PURPOSE: To honor and salute local Johnston County veterans for their service.
DETAILS: For the past 18 years, Johnston County Public Schools has honored local veterans with a special Veterans Day celebration. The 2024 celebration will be held on Monday, November 11 at Smithfield-Selma High School. The program begins at 11 AM. Doors will open at 10:30 AM.
Following the ceremony, all Johnston County veterans are invited to Smithfield-Selma High School's cafeteria for a celebratory Thanksgiving style meal from 12 PM to 2 PM. The event will be led by JCPS high school JROTC cadets, All-County Chorus, and All-County Band. All Johnston County veterans are welcome to attend.
