“Wreaths for Uncle” – December 16th at Selma Memorial Gardens

SUPPORT THE LOCAL INITIATIVE TO REMEMBER THE FALLEN, HONOR THOSE THAT SERVE, AND TEACH THE VALUE OF FREEDOM.

Selma, North Carolina — Wreaths Across America volunteers are working hard across the nation to raise funding and awareness for the upcoming memorial event. Evey Morgan, a 15-year-old high school junior, is the local event coordinator and location organizer for the annual event held in Selma, NC. In memory of her Uncle LtC. Michael Fields, the “Wreaths for Uncle” ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 AM at
Selma Memorial Gardens.

Wreaths Across America is a nationally recognized non-profit organization founded to expand the efforts of the initial memorial event, which began at Arlington National Cemetery in 1992. The organization’s mission is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom.

The goal before the event is to raise enough funds to purchase a balsam fir  veterans’ wreath to lay at every headstone of an American veteran on National  Wreaths Across America Day. In years past, there have been more than 2.4  million veterans honored with a wreath. This year an estimated 3,700 locations across American will be participating, including those in Selma, NC.

Approximately 450 wreath sponsorships remain for Evey to reach her 2023 goal  of filling Selma Memorial Gardens. To support Evey’s “Wreaths for Uncle” event,  please visit Wreaths for Uncle - Wreaths Across America.
