“Wreaths for Uncle” – Devember 14th at Selma Memorial Gardens

Selma, North Carolina — Wreaths Across America volunteers are working hard
across the nation to raise funding and awareness for the upcoming memorial
event. Evey Morgan, a 16-year-old high school student, is the local event
coordinator and location organizer for the annual event held in Selma, NC. In
memory of her Uncle LtC. Michael Fields, the “Wreaths for Uncle” ceremony is
scheduled for Saturday, December 14th at 11:00 AM at Selma Memorial
Gardens.

Wreaths Across America is a nationally recognized non-profit organization
founded to expand the efforts of the initial memorial event, which began at
Arlington National Cemetery in 1992. The organization’s mission is to remember
the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of
freedom.

The goal before the event is to raise enough funds to purchase a balsam fir
veterans’ wreath to lay at every headstone of an American veteran on National
Wreaths Across America Day. In years past, there have been more than 2.4
million veterans honored with a wreath. This year an estimated 4,600 locations
across America will be participating, including those in Selma, NC.

To support Evey’s “Wreaths for Uncle” event, please visit Wreaths for Uncle -

Please plan to join Evey and the Town of Selma to help lay the wreaths on
Saturday, December 14th. For more information or questions, please contact
