Selma Cyclepaths Ride for Multiple Sclerosis October 7th

Everyone is invited to join the team in the upcoming ride during the Railroad Days Festival!

Selma, NC – On Saturday, October 7th, the Selma Cyclepaths will pedal their way out and around the Selma community to help raise awareness and funding for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. As always, the Town of Selma welcomes this activity during the annual Selma Railroad Days Festival weekend each year.

Cyclepath team members began riding together in the 1990s and have raised over $2 million for Multiple Sclerosis research. The Cyclepaths sponsor weekly training rides from Thanksgiving Elementary School that lead up to a major twoday fundraising event in New Bern each September.

The ride during Railroad Days will begin and end at Selma Baptist Church, located at 1500 N Webb Street, Selma, on Saturday, October 7th, at 8:00 AM. Riders should plan to arrive by 7:30 AM for a safety briefing at 7:45 AM. There will be three distance options available (11, 25, and 46 miles). Route cue sheets, SAG support and a rest stop with water and snacks will be provided. The 11-mile ride is ideal for families, so all are invited to participate.

The Town welcomes riders to join in on the full schedule of Railroad Days festivities after the completion of the ride. The festival begins Friday, October 6th, and runs through Sunday, October 8th in downtown Selma.
