Five newly crowned young ladies to represent the Town of Selma!
Selma, NC – On Saturday, September 23rd, the Town of Selma crowned the new 2023 Selma Railroad Days Queens. The reigning 2022 Queens gave their farewells and passed on their titles just two weeks prior to the annual Selma Railroad Days Festival.
At 5:00 PM, the beautiful Ms. Allison Radcliffe stepped on stage at The Rudy Theatre to perform the National Anthem, opening for an evening full of performances. Former Teen Miss Selma Railroad Days 2010, Mrs. Kayla Baker Boykin, served as the emcee for the evening and even performed a clogging routine on stage for the audience. The 2022 Railroad Days Queens and several other special entertainers performed throughout the night in a variety of dance routines.
For the main event, fourteen ladies participated in four categories of competition, including interview, beauty, fun fashion, and talent. At the end of the night, five new queens were crowned.
Miss Blakely Ann Parks was crowned 2023 Tiny Miss Selma Railroad Days. Blakely is the daughter of Blake and Cierra Parks of Four Oaks where she attends Four Oaks Elementary School. Miss Brodie Kate Arthur was crowned 2023 Little Miss Selma Railroad Days. Brodie Kate is the daughter of Katy and Aaron Arthur of Princeton and she attends Pine Level Elementary School. Miss Bristol Diehl was crowned 2023 Junior Miss Selma Railroad Days. Bristol is the daughter of Chris and Jennifer Diehl of Princeton where she attends Princeton Middle School. Miss Ally Grace Smith was crowned 2023 Teen Miss Selma Railroad Days. She is the daughter of Patrick and Tonya Smith of Clayton where she attends Clayton High School. Miss Anna Smiley is your new 2023 Miss Selma Railroad Days. She is the daughter of Micheal and Missy Smiley of Princeton where she attends Princeton High School.
Awards were given for selected overall categories, including photogenic, talent, and interview. Miss Ally Grace Smith was awarded both Overall Photogenic and Overall Interview. Miss Anna Smiley and Miss Adalyn Murray tied for the Overall Talent Award.
The Town would like to thank each contestant, family member, volunteer, judge, auditor, former queen and sponsor for their dedication and support. This event would not have been possible without Pageant Director, Mrs. Nanda Jones, who ensured a beautiful event for all. The newly crowned queens were introduced during the welcoming ceremonies on Saturday, October 7th at the 2023 Selma Railroad Days Festival. They performed their talent numbers at the community stage and waved to the crowd as they rode a float through the annual parade.
