Selma, N.C., April 22, 2026 - AdVenture Development celebrated the ribbon-cutting for the grand opening of Chick-fil-A at Eastfield. Karla Reinertsen, owner operator was joined by family, her Chick-fil-A Smithfield Selma team, Selma Mayor Byron McAllister, Chick-fil-A corporate representatives, and members of the board of the Triangle East Chamber. Chick-fil-A is the fourth national restaurant opening at Eastfield, the 435-acre, 3 million-square-foot master-planned, mixed-use, Live-Work-Play development in Selma, NC; I-95, Exits 97 and 98. “We are thrilled by the incredible reception from Eastfield shoppers and I-95 travelers during Chick-fil-A's grand opening,” said Kevin Dougherty, President of AdVenture Development. “This new 6,500-square-foot location is designed for efficiency and comfort, featuring an expanded dining room, double drive-thru lanes for faster service, and a dedicated mobile lane for Chick-fil-A app users.”

Selma Mayor Byron McAllister remarked that the new jobs at Chick-fil-A, and the 5,500 jobs Eastfield is projected to generate when fully built out, represent a generational change for the citizens of Selma, NC.
Eastfield is a 435-acre, 3 million-square-foot master-planned, mixed-use, Live-Work-Play development. Residential components include 211 single-family homes, a senior living community, and Quincy at Eastfield, a 348-unit multifamily community currently under construction. Commercial features include Eastfield’s 375,000 s.f. shopping center, a business park, specialty retail, medical facilities, coworking spaces, hospitality, restaurants and entertainment.
