Local Interagency Coordinating Council Hosts Free Child Wellness Event

The Johnston County Local Interagency Coordinating Council is excited to announce its annual Child Wellness & Resource Event, taking place on July 19th from 9 am to 12 pm at the Partnership for Children office, located at 1406A South Pollock Street in Selma. This free indoor screening event ensures children ages 3 – 5 are meeting important developmental milestones while providing information for additional support as needed. Assessments will be available for hearing, vision, speech, development, and occupational therapy, and fulfill the screening requirements needed for NC Pre-K. Families will be able to connect with community resources and enjoy light snacks. If you are interested in attending, please register in advance by visiting bit.ly/childwellness25.

Connections in a child’s brain are most adaptable in the early stages of life, laying the foundation for learning, development, and overall health. Access to early intervention services can significantly impact a child’s ability to learn new skills and can influence their success in school and life. These screenings allow providers to identify any potential concerns and work with caregivers to best meet the child’s needs. If you are concerned about your child’s development, please call the Partnership for Children at 919-202-0002 for support and resources to ensure a bright future for your child.
