Johnston Community College Announces Participation in Wolfpack Connect Guaranteed Admission Program

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (October 30, 2025) Johnston Community College is proud to announce that it is joining Wolfpack Connect, a new initiative of the North Carolina Community College System in partnership with NC State University. This program offers guaranteed admission to NC State for eligible community college students across the state.

Wolfpack Connect provides JCC students with a clear and supported pathway to transfer to NC State. Students who earn an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and meet transfer application deadlines will be guaranteed admission into more than 100 majors and concentrations at NC State.

“This partnership with NC State opens a door filled with opportunity for Johnston Community College students,” said Dr. Marc C. David, vice president of curriculum instruction at JCC. “Our eligible students will now have a guaranteed pathway to pursue their academic and career goals at one of the state’s top universities. It’s powerful for our Jaguars to envision themselves as part of the Wolfpack community from day one.”

Johnston Community College is excited to now be part of the growing list of North Carolina Community Colleges participating in Wolfpack Connect.
In Fall 2025, nearly 1,700 transfer students enrolled at NC State, with more than half coming from North Carolina’s community colleges. Wolfpack Connect will build on this strong foundation by making the transfer process more transparent and accessible for students across the state.

To be eligible, students must have fewer than 30 transferable credits completed or in progress, be enrolled at or planning to enroll at a participating community college, and plan to pursue an eligible NC State major. The program will begin accepting eligibility forms in January 2026 for fall 2026 admission.

Wolfpack Connect expands opportunities beyond the existing C3 program, which supports low-to-moderate income students who plan to transfer to NC State.
