Johnston Community College (JCC) has once again broken enrollment records, marking its fifth straight semester of growth with a 27% increase in degree-seeking students on the first day of the summer term. As summer classes begin, JCC reports 2,755 students enrolled, the highest summer enrollment in the College’s history.
“We are thrilled to see this continued momentum, especially during the summer term,” said JCC President Dr. Vern L. Lindquist. “This incredible increase reflects not only the strength of our programs but also the trust our community has in JCC as a pathway to economic mobility and opportunity.”
The College attributes this surge to its ongoing student-centered strategies, which include expanding targeted outreach, building strategic partnerships, and investing in cutting-edge learning technologies.
The support of the Johnston County Commissioners’ Promise Program—which offers last-dollar funding to recent local high school graduates—has also played a critical role in making college more accessible for Johnston County residents.
