Johnston County, NC — November 8 — Nearly 3,500 Johnston County students experienced the excitement of career discovery during JOCO WORKS World of Work (WOW) 2025, a two-day, hands-on career exposition held at Johnston Community College.
Presented by Novo Nordisk, JOCO WORKS WOW connected students directly with local industries, providing engaging, interactive activities that brought real-world career pathways to life. A Key Component of the JOCO WORKS Initiative
JOCO WORKS WOW is one part of the JOCO WORKS suite of programs, a groundbreaking initiative transforming how 8th–12th graders in Johnston County explore career pathways. Through immersive, hands-on learning experiences, JOCO WORKS empowers young minds to dream big, discover their passions, and envision a future full of possibilities. The program acts as a bridge between classrooms and careers, introducing students to industries that are driving our community’s economic growth.
WOW specifically serves 8th-grade students and features dozens of local businesses from key sectors such as biotech, healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and technology. Through interactive exhibits and conversations with professionals, students gained valuable insight into the skills and opportunities available to them right here in Johnston County.
Community Collaboration at Its Best
