Smithfield, NC — The Smithfield community is gearing up for a milestone celebration as the 40th Annual Ham & Yam Festival proudly announces Sister Hazel as this year’s headlining musical act.
Originating from Gainesville, Florida, Sister Hazel is best known for their feel-good Southern rock sound and their chart-topping hit “All For You,” which soared to the top of the adult alternative charts and helped propel the band to platinum success. Over the years, the band has built an impressive catalog that crosses rock, alternative, and country genres, earning multiple appearances on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart.
Beyond their music, Sister Hazel is widely recognized for their strong connection to fans and commitment to community. The band pioneered fan-focused destination events such as The Rock Boat and continues to host immersive experiences like Hazelnut Hang and Camp Hazelnut, fostering meaningful connections between artists and audiences. Their philanthropic efforts through Lyrics For Life, a nonprofit founded by lead singer Ken Block, have raised more than $5 million to support cancer research and patient care.
“This is a huge year for the Ham & Yam Festival, and Sister Hazel is the perfect headliner to help us celebrate 40 years,” said Heidi Gilmond. “Their music, energy, and heart align perfectly with what this festival represents — community, tradition, and unforgettable experiences.”
The Ham & Yam Festival is one of North Carolina’s longest-running and most beloved festivals, drawing visitors from all over to Downtown Smithfield for live music, food, family-friendly activities, and community celebration.
Additional festival details, including performance schedules and event updates, will be announced in the coming weeks.
