

FOUR OAKS, N.C. – Brightspeed and Johnston Community College (JCC) are continuing their partnership to help prepare the next generation of broadband professionals through specialized fiber optic training opportunities in Johnston County.
JCC will offer its Fiber Optic Broadband Technician Course (Course Section ID# 83215 – SEF 3001-250U) July 20–23, 2026, at the college's Four Oaks Campus. The four-day program is designed to provide participants with the technical skills and hands-on experience needed to enter or advance within the rapidly growing broadband and telecommunications industry.
Utilizing Corning's Fiber Broadband Technician (CFBT) curriculum, students will receive instruction in fiber network design, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and field deployment. The course combines classroom learning with practical training to ensure participants gain real-world experience working with fiber optic technology.
