Choices Pregnancy Center's Annual Fundraising Banquet brought together community members, local supporters, and partners on October 8 to celebrate the lives being impacted through the organization's work with women, men, and families throughout Johnston County. While the evening was a meaningful celebration, the center's fundraising campaign continues, with 60% of its goal reached to date.
Founded in 2005, Choices Pregnancy Center provides free pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasounds, pregnancy options education, prenatal and parenting classes, life-skills education, and practical resources for families. The center's mission is to empower families during pregnancy and infancy by ministering to their spiritual, emotional, and practical needs.
The impact of that work extends well beyond pregnancy confirmation. Through education, one-on-one support, and ongoing resources, Choices helps parents prepare for the arrival of a baby and navigate the challenges and joys of early parenthood. The center's reported impact figures include 585 clients, 445 pregnancy tests, 425 ultrasounds, 2,350 classes, and 1,990 appointments. Choices also reports that 99% of women in its reported outcomes chose life and that three babies were saved through Abortion Pill Reversal.
The evening featured keynote speaker Annette Sosa-Rodriguez, a former Planned Parenthood health-center manager in Chapel Hill who left the abortion industry and now shares her story of redemption, healing, and transformation.
For Choices, the banquet is both a celebration of the community behind the mission and a vital source of support for the year ahead. Approximately 80% of the center's annual operating budget comes from the event, helping keep its services available to families at no cost.
“The banquet was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate what this community makes possible for families,” said Grace Schupp, Development & Marketing Director at Choices Pregnancy Center. “I'm so thankful for everyone who believes in this work and has helped us get where we are today. And our work doesn't stop when the evening ends. There will be more moms and dads coming through our doors with questions, needing encouragement, or simply looking for someone to walk alongside them. We want to be there for them, and we're grateful for everyone who helps make that possible.”
Although the banquet has concluded, fundraising is still underway. With 60% of its goal reached, Choices continues to welcome support from individuals, churches, and businesses who want to help sustain its work with local families. The center also hopes to grow community partnerships that provide parents with encouragement and practical support beyond their appointments, including mentoring relationships with local churches.
