Smithfield-Selma Chamber recognizes outstanding citizens

SMITHFIELD (January 29, 2013) - Rev. Lee Colbert, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Smithfield, was named the 2012 Citizen of the Year on Monday night at the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Greater Smithfield-Selma Area Chamber of Commerce. Rev. Colbert was recognized for his 34 years of service to the church, and, in particular, for the opening of the new First Baptist Church Mission Center in October of last year. The presenting sponsor for the event was Interstate Outdoor Billboards, Inc.
Also receiving awards at the Chamber banquet were: Selma's Fran Davis and Smithfield's Graham Neville, Distinguished Citizens; Johnston Community College Dean Joy Callahan, the Corestaff Chamber Athena Award; Millard Stallings and Robbie Parker, Jimmy Creech Small Business Persons of the Year; KS Bank's Earl Worley, Howard Best Outstanding Board Member Award; Four Oaks Bank's Rose House, Ambassador of the Year; and Jason Wenzel, Past Chair's Award.
