Johnstonian News Launches New Website

Restoration NewsMedia’s five local newspapers have launched new versions of their websites that allow visitors to read a limited selection of stories before logging in or subscribing.

Restoration NewsMedia partnered with Clifton Springs, New York-based vendor Our-Hometown to redesign the websites for The Wilson Times, The Wake Weekly in Wake Forest, Johnstonian News in Smithfield, The Butner-Creedmoor News and The Enterprise in Spring Hope.

“We’re excited to offer our print and online subscribers a more sophisticated suite of websites better able to support multimedia content,” said President and Publisher Keven Zepezauer. “The new sites powered by Our-Hometown give us the opportunity to use what’s known as a metered paywall. Visitors will receive a specified number of free-access stories before being prompted to either log into their account or purchase a new subscription. This ‘try before you buy’ model has become the standard for most paywall-access online news outlets.”

Paid content including obituaries, classified advertisements and public notices will remain free for all visitors to access, with no login or subscription required.

Current subscribers will need to visit https://restorationnewsmedia.com/account-recovery/ and enter the email address, street address and ZIP code associated with their subscription to set up their accounts on the new website.

If your information isn’t recognized or you aren’t able to log in, fill out the form beneath the account lookup button, describe the issue you’re experiencing in the “Notes” field and click “Submit” for assistance.
