Learn How Your Business can Be Certified as Family Forward

 As businesses compete for talent they must be creative in the benefits they offer to their workforce. The Family Forward NC Certification may be what your business needs to recruit your next new hire. 

Launched in October, Family Forward NC Employer Certification – part of the Family Forward NC initiative – designates employers that offer policies and practices that support the health and well-being of working families and children.

To achieve a Family Forward NC Employer Certification, an employer must offer best-practice policies in one or more of five main areas:

  • paid leave and wages;
  • accommodations for pregnant and breastfeeding workers; 
  • child care;
  • health and wellness benefits; and 
  • scheduling practices
