About Us
Hinnant Family Vineyards and Winery is a scenic, family-run destination in Pine Level, North Carolina, renowned as the oldest and largest commercial muscadine vineyard in the state.
Sprawling across 100 acres of rolling Johnston County landscape, the vineyard offers a serene escape where visitors can relax in wicker rocking chairs on a spacious front porch or enjoy patio swings that overlook endless rows of vines. The atmosphere at Hinnant is laid-back and welcoming!
Wine Tastings Available! You can explore a diverse selection of over 30 award-winning wines, from traditional sweet scuppernong to dry reds and whites.
Portable flights are available to enjoy anywhere on the grounds.
Every September, the winery hosts a beloved pick-your-own muscadine grapes tradition, inviting the public to harvest grapes directly from the vine.
Saturdays and Sundays often feature live music on the patio and visiting food trucks, creating a lively community gathering space.
The onsite gift shop features local North Carolina products, including Ashe County cheeses, gourmet jellies, and unique wine-related gifts.
The Hinnant family’s roots in the land date back over 50 years. Originally a tobacco farm, the transition to grapes began in 1971 as a way to preserve the family heritage. Today, the winery remains in the family and continues the tradition of onsite processing—from crushing to bottling—ensuring that every bottle captures the true essence of Eastern North Carolina.
