Retirement Reception for Dwight Morris

The community is invited to a retirement reception for Dwight Morris on August 17th, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce! Dwight, who took over as Executive Director of the Partnership for Children of Johnston County in October of 2006, has grown the organization from approximately 13 staff to 28. The financial arm of the Partnership for Children was so well respected under his leadership that 9 other Partnerships use them for their accounting. 

Dwight’s leadership extends well beyond the walls of the Partnership for Children. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce, including a term as Chairman in 2016-2017. He was on the Board of the Partnership to Build a Miracle, which raised $1.5 million dollars to build the Miracle League baseball field  and Inclusion Park for all families in Smithfield. Dwight has served as the only Johnston County representative and board member to the Triangle United Way for nearly a decade, helping make sure many of our local non-profits are supported.  He has also served the community as a board member of the Rotary Club of Central Johnston County.  His service to our community has been impactful to citizens of all ages, as he was recognized as the Triangle East Citizen of the Year and Ambassador of the Year in 2014 and is a two-time recipient of the Howard Best Award.
