TAKING ME BACK TOUR 2018 *Johnston County native & Award winning Country Music Artist DONNIE LEE STRICKLAND returns to the Rudy Theatre stage in Selma on February 3rd, 2018. With special guest: Benson’s own singing sensation ABBY STEPHENS. Donnie was a cast member of the American Music Jubilee show in Selma for almost 14 years before heading to Nashville and then on to performing in Branson, Missouri. He has opened for Tanya Tucker, Lu Lu Roman (Hee-Haw), Billy Dean, Sunny Sweeney, Ty Herndon, Anita Cochran, Jeff Bates, Bucky Covington, Frankie Ballard, Brothers Osborne, Shotgun & Lace, and many more. Donnie has been a featured guest artist at Loretta Lynn’s ranch in historic Hurricane Mills, TN. He has appeared on several TV and radio shows, including Branson Country USA, Ben Stillwater’s Country Junction, Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree, Nashville Entertainment Weekly, and Legends of Country. He performed in Reba McEntire’s choir at the Dove Awards. Donnie has released two albums, which has produced 2 number one singles on the Indisc Independent music chart. And his song “She’s My Kind of Woman” won Song of the Year at the 2017 WOBA awards in Nashville. He also was awarded the 2017 Modern Country Male Artist of the Year at the Josie Music Awards held at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. His song “Cowboy Rock & Roll” can be heard on 94.7 WQDR in Raleigh. He was currently chosen to perform as part of the WSM Radio RoadShow. His new single “Every Me (Needs A You)” is set for release in late February.
