On Friday, May 18, volunteer lawyers from the Johnston County Bar Association will hold public “Ask-A-Lawyer” day at the atrium area of the Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield, North Carolina, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m.
During this event, individuals with questions about legal issues or the legal system in general will be able to talk with lawyers on a one-on-one basis. No appointment is necessary. Individuals seeking advice will be asked to complete a brief interview form before consulting with one of the attorneys on duty. Participants are invited to meet with an attorney for up to thirty (30) minutes at no charge. All matters discussed will be held in strict confidence. All members of the general public are invited and encouraged to come to the event with any questions they may have.
The program is a public service of the North Carolina Bar Association and Johnston County Bar Association, and is provided at no cost to the public.
The local coordinator is Thomas S. Berkau (919-934-4634) tom@berkaulaw.com. Media, volunteer lawyers, and members of the public can contact local coordinator directly for more information about the event. The coordinator would welcome opportunities to be interviewed or otherwise provide information to the public in the days prior to the event.
