Clay Pot Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit that assists individuals who have experienced a life-changing event such as illness, injury or natural disaster. We are currently raising funds for a life-long Smithfield/Selma resident, Delois Spellman. Ms. Spellman has experienced a significant amount of medical problems. Most recently, her kidneys began to fail as the result of diabetic medication and she is now on dialysis three times per week. While traveling to/from a dialysis appointment, she was in an accident in which her car was totaled. The insurance settlement that she received was not sufficient to purchase another car and she is now dependent on transport services and other individuals to take her where she needs to go. Through all of this, she has held steadfastly to her faith and has not allowed her sweet spirit to be eradicated. Can you imagine what it must be like to wake up at 3 am just to make it to a Dialysis appointment??? We are holding a series of fundraisers in hopes of being able to help Ms. Delois purchase a car. Our first fundraiser is this coming Saturday night at the Golden Corral in Smithfield. Area businesses have donated wonderful products and services to us in order to hold a Silent Auction.
