DESCRIPTION:The Junior Women's League of Smithfield (JWL) invites you to join us at the Country Club of Johnston County on Thursday\, May 18 at 6 p.m. for our "Friends of the League" community event an evening of networking and connecting with more than a dozen non-profits from across Johnston County. This public event will serve as a platform for these organizations to educate guests about their sustainable\, service-driven solutions to problems impacting citizens in our local communities. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to mingle and speak directly with non-profit leaders about their meaningful\, hands-on initiatives and explore how people of all ages are able to proactively support their efforts.\n\n\n\nWe are honored to have three keynote speakers joining us from the Johnston County FOP Lodge 88\, Helping and Healing Hearts\, Inc.\, and Partnership for Children of Johnston County. These speakers are a small representation of the many who serve as a catalyst for constructing a better place for us to live by fostering a culture of giving. They exemplify what it means to have a servant's heart. Each speaker will have dedicated time to discuss their outreach and services\, as well as their experiences partnering with our league this year. JWL is thrilled to introduce you\, or possibly reacquaint you\, with these local organizations and to showcase their philanthropic work benefiting the residents of Johnston County.\n\n\n\nIt is our hope that this event will empower and inspire all who attend. Join us as we show our appreciation for those trailblazing a path of positive change for the generations to come. Additionally\, JWL will be opening our member applications for the 2023-2024 league year on May 1\, 2023 and will be taking applications in person that evening. This event will provide interested applicants with exposure to JWL's partnering organizations and the many ways we collaborate on projects of purpose throughout the year.
