SUMMARY:2022 Flame For Learning Award Celebration
DESCRIPTION:"What greater work is there than training the mind and forming the habits of the young?"\n\n\n\nThese profound words were uttered by the Christian Saint John Chrysostom in 400 A.D. And they are just as relevant today as they were 1600 years ago.\n\n \n\nBecause of the importance of teachers in developing and educating children\, the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce has adopted the Flame For Learning Award.  In so doing\, it our goal to support and elevate the teaching profession in the public schools. This award recognizes outstanding creativity and innovation in the classroom and nominees are selected strictly on merit\, without regard to school or residence. The recipient of the award is named the Johnston County Teacher of the Year and will represent the Johnston County Public School System in the North Carolina Teacher of the Year competition.\n\n\n\nWe are proud to announce our 2022 Flame for Learning Semifinalists:\n\n\n\nAmanda Astoske - Smithfield-Selma High\n\nJennifer Beninate - Four Oaks Elementary\n\nLiAnn Cheong - Riverwood Elementary\n\nMaria Eby - Dixon Road Elementary\n\nKristine Gear - Innovation Academy\n\nShannon Gibson - Pine Level Elementary\n\nRachel Hardin - West View Elementary\n\nBeverly Harper - Smithfield Middle\n\nLee Hudson - West Johnston High\n\nAmanda Jackson - South Smithfield Elementary\n\nCarlos Jimenez - Selma Middle\n\nGail Lawhorn - River Dell Elementary\n\nWill Marshall - West Johnston High\n\nKaren Newhart - Riverwood Elementary\n\nMelissa Pearce - Cleveland High\n\nMeredith Rakowski - Clayton High\n\nPatience Spivey - Smithfield Middle\n\nRobin Tingle - Thanksgiving Elementary\n\nAbigail Valdes - Cooper Elementary\n\nBrandy Williams - Selma Elementary\n\n \n\nHelp us celebrate and honor our teachers!\n\n\n\nThis program requires sponsorship dollars\, much of which is given to the semifinalists in the form of prize money.    \n\n\n\nAll sponsors will be recognized during the award ceremony.
